Mrs Lavaniya Sritharan
Mrs Lavaniya Sritharan is an Oral Health Therapist who speaks Tamil and English.
Lavaniya graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2007 with a Bachelor of Oral Health (dental hygiene and dental therapy). Upon graduation she returned to Sydney and commenced work in private practice as well as various public health clinics.
Lavaniya joined Kensington Dental in May 2015. She plays a key role in developing our prevention/ dental hygiene department. She provides oral health education and focuses on treatment of the gums, including gingivitis and periodontitis. She also provides dental care for our paediatric patients between the age of 0-18.
Lavaniya also works at Westmead Centre for Oral Health in various departments including special care unit, refugee clinics, prosthodontic clinic, paediatrics and orthodontic department.
In 2010, Lavaniya was part of an overseas volunteer program in Cambodia as a dental therapist and provided treatment for disadvantaged children. She also conducted a prevention focussed training program for local dental assistants there in oral hygiene instructions, nutrition and fluoride treatment.
Lavaniya also worked in Tasmania from 2012 to 2014 and expanded her skills in paediatric dentistry and dveloped an interest in rural dentistry.
